A few years ago I was commissioned to make bed scarves for a new business coming to town...the Red Cedar Lodge. It's located on the south west side of Charles City.
T-shirt quilts are by far the best quilt for memories. They are so very popular for both graduation and Christmas.
They are available in the Puzzle type, squares without sashing, squares with sashing (fabric between all the same color), or sashing with cornerstones (fabric at square intersections a different color than remaining sashing). Other kinds available by request.
Sew Happy Days was selected by International Quilt Festival to travel to its shows for display for the remainder of 2014. It placed second in the Individual Traditional class at the Iowa State Fair in 2013. Pieced and Long Arm quilted by Ana Blickenderfer. The fabric line is mostly "Mama Said Sew" Warm and Natural batting. The blocks are snowball and 16 patch.
This is Ana's first time applying and being selected for International Quilt Festival.
Many of the quilts you see below have been custom pieced and quilted to a customers request. Some are patterns I've made for classes others are custom designs.
Techniques include applique, fabric photos, hand beading, hand and machine embroidery, among others.

The photo above is the first "Puzzle" quilt. This quilt type is custom designed for each customer based on the size of the screen print of the shirt. I initially designed this quilt because, my sister, who already had 2 other t-shirt quilts, wanted one of just her college shirts. She didn't want it to be very big but she had 56 shirts! So, this is how I decided to put a large number of shirts into the smallest area possible.
"I just saw the quilt...WOW you do awesome work! Many thanks from the IC Development Board. It will be a great addition to the fund raising donations. Thanks" -Scott W.
"Words cannot express my feelings about this quilt! Honestly just cried a
little" -Katie H.
"Ana's work is awesome! I have had her make several quilts (in various sizes), wall hangings and table runners. She has taken a couple of simple ideas and ran with them to get a beautiful end result! She is very detail oriented and wants to make sure everything is just right. I look forward to having her do more unique items for me in the future. Thank you, Ana, for sharing your talent!" -Lisa G.
"I know that when I take my quilt tops to Sew That! To be long arm quilted, I can guarantee that it will be wonderfully and creatively quilted with care. I can trust Ana with her judgments and creative abilities!" -Alicia S.
"Thanks so much for making such beautiful quilts! The girls loved them!" -Sandy M.
