Sew That!

Custom Piecing & Long Arm Services

Welcome to Sew That! We specialize in custom quilt design and assembly.  I have been sewing for the last 21 years and quilting for 14 years.  I opened my business in 2008 and have enjoyed meeting many people through the years who share a love of fiber art with me, whether they are quilters who bring their tops to me to long arm or people who really don't like to sew, so they have me create one of a kind items for them.  We ship all over the world - so far, I have quilts in Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Virginia, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Italy and Switzerland!

I am always learning new quilt techniques and currently working on becoming a Certified Instructor for Quiltworx.  Weathered Windmill pattern shown at right received 4th place in the Individual Pieced 144-300 inches category and Stormy Seas below right received first place in the table runners category at the Iowa State Fair 2016.  Quiltworx offers a wide variety of patterns for precision paper piecing.  Classes have started, check out our Facebook page Events.

I also completed my first Wedding dress quilt (see below right).  More are in the works!

Every year I give back to the community by donating quilts to various causes including Quilts of Valor,  cancer patient benefits, United Way auctions, Relay for Life, IC Development board, March of Dimes events, Floyd County Fair, St. John Evangelical Lutheran church and more!  See the About page for examples.

Throughout the site you will see examples of my work.  I have not shown all of them, so if you don't see something you're looking for please ask.  You may also check in on our Facebook page as it is updated almost daily.

The most popular quilt is the t-shirt quilt.  I have several design choices and am currently working on adding another.  There are many options for t-shirt quilts - not limited to just t-shirts.  You can use sweatshirts, sweatpants, bandanas, (lightweight) jeans, jerseys etc.

When purchasing fabric, I only use quilt shop quality fabrics in quilts.  I travel all over a multi state area to find just the right fabric and sometimes use the internet as a resource.  Quilters Dream batting and Superior Threads are some of my favorite products.  I also bind the quilt with a double layer.

Please let me know if you have any questions I would be happy to help you!
